The 2006 Focus on Robbery™ Symposium IBP International will hold its fifth annual Focus on Robbery™ Symposium on the 14th and 15th September at which, in dynamic interactive sessions, delegates will bring their collective experience to focus on ‘Intelligence Partnerships Reducing Violent Crime’, ‘Tailoring Risk Assessments to Resources’ and the ‘Ever-Present Threat of Tiger Kidnap’.
Former Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable, Richard Childs QPM, will chair the two-day symposium and welcome over one hundred senior delegates from an array of industry disciplines including financial institutions, cash handling, retail, trade associations and police. A line-up of ten guest speakers will be leading the event and include Assistant Chief Constable Graham Bullock, Bedfordshire Police; John Hamilton, Head of Security for Bradford & Bingley; Detective Superintendent Bob Cummings, Met Police Flying Squad and Michael Hunt, Director of Security for Shell. Academic partners, the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies (a department of the University of Portsmouth), will provide a unique insight into the profile of criminals who plan and commit Tiger Kidnaps. Dr Karen Shalev will present her research on offenders convicted of such offences and how this data can help mitigate risk for the future. The Focus on Robbery™ Partnership Group will update delegates on current matters affecting the business community covering diverse issues such as note-staining technology, Chip & PIN roll-out and innovative tracking devices. Digby Ram, Managing Director of IBP International said: “It is essential that the security industry, in partnership with other interested parties, plays its part in developing strategic policies to tackle the big crime issues. The Focus on Robbery™ Symposium goes some way to address this ideal and I anticipate that this year’s conference will prove to be extremely informative and useful to the delegates.” For more information visit the Focus on Robbery™ Symposium area of this site, email or call +44 (0)1428 641399. |
