IBP wins contract to supply French Post Office

IBP-Sedimap SAS, the French arm of Surrey-based security group IBP International, has won a substantial tender to supply 65 of the 96 regions of La Poste with Smokenote™ Robbery Systems (or Billets Piégé™).

More than 6,500 premises, in three European countries, are now equipped with IBP robbery systems and some 3,600 of those are Post Offices.

“Winning the French contract is excellent news,” said Digby Ram, Managing Director of IBP International. “The systems effectively reduced robberies in the North of France where the trials took place, resulting in the concept being now accepted as a standard feature of many branches of La Poste’s security tool-kit.”

IBP International is a three-times winner of the Post Office’s First Class Supplier Gold Award in the UK.

Smokenote™, which has also been installed in a number of High Street banks, building societies and retail outlets across the UK, acts as a deterrent by releasing a highly visible red smoke when a robbery is being committed, staining the cash and the criminal. The philosophy is that of deterring criminals from committing a robbery by rendering the spoils unusable and raising the risk of arrest.
