Axytrans takes smart approach to safety
06 October 2004

Axytrans, French manufacturers of smart cash in transit solutions launched the latest, intelligent, Axytrans <i> system at IBP International’s 2004 Robbery Symposium.

More than 60 per cent of cash-movements to French and Belgian financial institutions are no longer carried out by traditional CIT vehicles – but now use Axytrans systems, whereby the guard has no access to the cash until it is delivered to site. Axytrans containers, which indelibly stain at least 20 per cent of each side of all the cash within 1/1000th second of any form of attack, is widely used where after-hours deliveries require a genuine end-to-end solution with on-site cash-storage and time-slots and time-delays as standard. The <i> container can only be opened with a smart card, PIN and when at its correct destination.

A live demonstration took place at the Symposium with the container being activated and opened within a matter of seconds and the results clearly demonstrated the staining process.

The new <i> system is designed specifically for the high-volume UK cash-in-transit market which requires containers, not only to cater for multiple branch and ATM cash collection and deliveries, but also  the flexibility to facilitate mid-round re-usability.

The launch was the highlight of the two day symposium, entitled ‘Focus-on-Robbery’, initiating a restricted academic forum sponsored by IBP and chaired by Richard Childs QPM. With industry experts drawn from high street networks, cash-in-transit companies and police, the forum analyses trends in methods, monitors relevant health and safety legislation and case law and assesses best practice used to prevent and deter robbery.
