Banknote Watch

Banknote Watch is a crime reduction concept conceived by IBP-Group and donated to Banknote Watch Trust, a partnership between the manufacturers/installers and users of cash staining systems, the Government and Police.

It has sought specialist advice from the Bank of England and is supported by the Home Office, Scottish Executive, Northern Ireland Office and leading financial/retail organisations.

Banknote Watch has four objectives:
• To significantly raise awareness of the public at large that “a stained note is probably a stolen note”

• To encourage the immediate withdrawal of stained banknotes from circulation

• To develop a network for the exchange of information by the appropriate authorities

• To enhance the deterrent value of smoke/dye systems

Over 100,000 posters cover the country. Banknote Watch frequently features in the media.
