The 2009 Focus on Robbery™ Symposium

Eleven first-rate speakers have been confirmed so far for IBP-Group’s eighth annual Focus on Robbery™ Partnership Symposium to be held on 10 and 11 September 2009.

The Symposium this year is focusing onthe impact of the credit crunch and will include presentations with the focus on Crime in Crisis. These will include case studies and presentations from experts in their field from the retail, cash-in-transit, ATM, banking and academic world.

The speakers include Tim White, Head of Security for Tesco Financial Services; Nicky Lowry, Security Manager at Barclays; John Pearse, Forensic Psychologist; Graham Sunderland, Assistance Chief Constable Cumbria Police; John Birkenshaw, Manager, Safer Leeds.

The Focus on Robbery™ Partnership is a joint not-for-profit initiative formed in 2004 by IBP Group to harness expertise from every discipline that has an interest in understanding the reasons for criminal behaviour, analysing the effectiveness of current reduction measures and reducing violent crime. The Symposium is an important part of the overall work of the partnership, which has produced many avenues of continued research benefiting those affected by robbery.
